Folkosis explores the fault lines between psychosis and folklore. The piece shows the search for their intersections and overlaps—a mashup of cult and culture. The performers develop a vocabulary of movement influenced by the obscure reality of the phenomena mentioned. An “embodiment of fantasy” meets an “embodiment of memory.” Two bodies encounter each other that at first glance have nothing in common, but in the course of the performance, they grow closer and closer and finally merge with each other. The process is supported by the poetry of hn. lyonga and their reflections on folklore and memory. The object theater performer explores the role our hands play in the search for one's own moving identity.
